Joy's Idea Garden planted seeds in February of 1984. The company began as a collaboration between President Joyce Pearl Jones and a business partner. During the first 4 years, the firm employed 6 associates and "cultivated" major clients in Kansas City. Hallmark Cards, Marion Merrill Dow, Payless Cashways headquarters, law firms, universities, professional organizations, and National Seminars group were some of these clients.
Queen Ziggy, an English beagle, born in Atlanta, served as the company mascot for 10 years, until December of 2011. She and Ms. Jones discovered many gardens in Atlanta, Little River, SC, Springfield, MO, Shawnee, KS, and in Saint Louis.
Without her "guide dog" support, little would have been accomplished. Thanks, and Viva the Queen!
